I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Tom Hakim. I have been a Graphic Designer for approximately 6 years and a Web Designer and Developer for 11 years. I graduated from Platt College in July of 99' with an AA Degree in Graphic Design and a Certificate of Completion for Multimedia. I received 2 Certificates of Graphic Excellence and was selected as the Graduation Speaker for our school campus.
     As a Graphic and Web Designer, I have created CD covers, brochures, flyers, stationary sets, posters and various advertising material, such as large format posters for major music chains stores. I have experience with setting up the artwork to be "Print Ready" and correct according to the clients expectations. My skills and proficiency include the following programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, ImageReady, PageMaker and QuarkXpress. I am also experienced in working with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Layers, JavaScript, CGI, various FTP programs and several MS Office programs. I am well versed in using various digital cameras and digital scanners. Being able to type 58 wpm at 98% accuracy is also one of my strengths.
     I have a thorough understanding of how the internet works in the interest of the client. My experience and perspective with the internet and web design and development has become a stepping stone in my career. In my expertise as a Webmaster, I have dealt with clients one-on-one with problem solving to achieve their goals, designed and developed several web sites and worked with various outside sources. In such a position as a leader, I understand that the communication between your co-workers is essential to accomplish and complete projects with high productivity and effecientcy, as well as, creating a friendly and well contructed enviroment to make everyone feel comfortable as an individual and as a team. Being a Graphic and Web Designer and Developer requires patience, an open mind and several levels of creativity. I have gained great knowledge throughout my career in the work force and I enjoy applying my skills and practical knowledge to the Graphic and Web Design world! I look forward to sharing my qualifications with you in more detail.
